How to remove a rootkit?
Friday, May 21st, 2010 | Author: Viorel Olteanu

A rootkit is a program that is designed to gain administrator privileges on your computer. Therefore it is very dangerous and very difficult to detect by conventional antivirus programs. Moreover, some antivirus software (such as Bitdefender) detects rootkit but can not delete, disinfect or put in quarantine.

Actions as a threat of rootkits are: infects the BIOS, the boot manager (boot-loader software), operating system kernel and applications installed on your computer.

A rootkit wipe using some specific applications, so-called rootkit tools:

- Sophos Anti-rootkit ;

- RootkitRevealer ;

- Symantec Rootkit Tools.

My recommendation is to use the row of each type of anti-rootkit.

Virus transmitted by MSN Messenger
Thursday, May 06th, 2010 | Author: Viorel Olteanu

Problem: Lately I've met many, many computers infected with a virus transmitted by MSN Messenger.

Virus behavior: Internet connection is very sluggish or no. The computer stops responding or keyboard click.

Solution: If you can not handle any Ctrl + Alt + Del or Start -> Restart, press the Reset button and just start the computer in Safe Mode (by pressing F5). Then, in Safe Mode, follow these steps:

A. Open Task Manager with Ctrl + Alt + Del -> Open Task Manager

Two. Finish the process with this name: infocard.exe. Depends on the system, we met computers in Safe Mode did not start this process.

Three. In Windows Explorer, go to folder C: \ Window and manually delete these files C: \ Windows \ mds.sys, C: \ Windows \ mdt.sys, C: \ Windows \ winbrd.jpg and C: \ Windows \ InfoCard. exe. If there are no first, try to display and system files with full names.

Four. Update your antivirus and to schedule a full scan (Full Scan) to restart. Personally, I use Avast Home Edition and I had problems with it installed on your computer.

Five. After Full Cleaners, change your password for Yahoo Messenger necessarily.

6. And scan your USB sticks!
